So far today is going along very quietly.
To be perfectly honest that only makes matters worse. What can I say? I'm the kind of guy that likes to have my cake and eat it too. I don't appreciate being inundated with buttloads of work to do, but at the same time I don't like it when it is relatively quiet and work is trickling in like a dripping faucet.
I work in an office that consists primarily of cubicles. Even the people who normally couldn't shut their mouths to save their lives are quiet today. The girls who are generally talking to the person who has a cubicle next to me aren't there whispering and gossiping or bitching about how pissed they are at their ex-husband.
The old hens in the office aren't gathered together pissing and moaning about how things aren't being done right or their wide variety of medical problems.
Lastly the armchair wannabes aren't discussing the latest in the world of whatever sports are the topic today. No stats on yards gained. No reliving the best play of the weekend.
Save for the soft tapping of computer keyboards, it's a pretty quiet day. But how long is that going to last.
