Blend, simply blend

As part of my diet I drink smoothies most mornings, This morning was no exception and as usual I filled the blender with yogurt, milk, protein powder, peanut butter, mixed frozen berries, a banana, ice and other mixed frozen fruit. As usual, I pressed the button to mix the ingredients into my favorite morning breakfast meal.

Things started out ok. Slowly the ingredients began to mix together as I impatiently waited to see the ice at the top get drawn down into the center and blended thoroughly, However, things didn't really go as expected.

With no warning whatsoever a small, metallic pinging sound began to emanate from the blender's motor. There was still a considerable amount of frozen fruit and ice that had not been mixed. It was at this point that I began to worry whether or not my smoothie was going to finish blending. As if to answer my question the smell of overheating electronics filled my nostrils and smoke started to flow from the base of the blender.

I turned the blender off and looked inside. Sure enough, there were a lot of ingredients that had yet to mix. I started the blender again and the noxious smell filled the air more profusely than before. The metallic grinding sound was just as bad as before but the smoke became worse.

I now knew that my breakfast was postponed.

I ended up getting a new blender.
